Boryspil airport postpones opening of parking lot until May 15
Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv) has postponed the opening of a parking lot from March 31 until May 15, 2014.
"This is stipulated in the schedule of work agreed with the general contractor of construction," airport CEO Oleksiy Kochanov told reporters in Kyiv.
He said the postponement was due to certain features of traffic management not initially being considered.
"We will develop a new scheme of traffic organization that will prevent traffic jams, and hope to launch it by the date of launching the parking lot," he said.
As reported, with reference to airport director for construction Volodymyr Barkovsky, it was planned to launch a four-level parking lot for 2,038 cars at Boryspil on March 31, 2014. The construction cost is UAH 518 million.
The parking lot in its central zone will be connected by a special passage to Terminal D.
