Ukraine in 2013 cuts cheese exports by 12.8% - Income Ministry
Ukraine in 2013 exported 59,000 tonnes of cheese, which is 12.8% less than in 2012, according to the Income and Tax Ministry.
According to its data, in monetary terms cheese exports increased by 1.07%, to $362.3 million.
Ukraine in 2013 increased cheese imports by about 13%, to 19,300 tonnes. The country received cheese products worth $111.17 million, while in 2012 this was $91.54 million.
According to the ministry, exports of butter from Ukraine last year grew by 5.6 times and amounted to 3,860 tonnes. In monetary terms, the country exported these products to the tune of $22.2 million, which is 7.7 times more than in 2012.
However, imports of butter to Ukraine in 2013 increased by 56%, to 14,000 tonnes. Ukraine received butter worth $67.3 million, while in 2012 the figure was $38.67 million.
