Ukraine's total state debt grew by 13% or $8.434 billion in 2013, to $73.078 billion, according to the Web site of the Finance Ministry of Ukraine.
According to the report, in December the state debt increased by 6.2%, or $4.247 billion.
Ukraine's total foreign debt fell by 3.2% in 2013, to $37.536 billion, while total domestic debt grew by 37.5%, to $35.542 billion.
The ministry also said that the ratio between direct state debt and GDP (GDP is assessed at UAH 1.441 trillion in 2013) grew by early 2014 to 33.3% from 28.3% in 2012.
The ratio between direct and guaranteed state debt of Ukraine and GDP grew to 40.5% in 2013 from 36.6% in 2012.
As reported, in 2012 the total state debt of Ukraine increased by $5.27 billion, or by 8.9%, in particular the internal debt was up by 18.8%, and the external one by 3.1%.
