UIA gets permits for some international destinations
The commission for the formation and implementation of state policy in the operation of airlines under the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine has issued permits to Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv) for some regular international flights.
According to the press service of the ministry, the decision was made at a meeting on December 27, 2013.
UIA was permitted to fly from Kyiv to Rimini, from Odesa, Kharkiv, Lviv, Donetsk to Burgas, Enfidha, Monastir, and Heraklion.
In addition, the company will be able to fly from Lviv to Rhodes and Larnaca, from Dnipropetrovsk - to Heraklion and Larnaca, and from Zaporizhia to Rhodes and Heraklion.
UIA was founded in 1992. It is the largest Ukrainian airline.
Its basis airport is that in Boryspil (Kyiv).
The UIA fleet consists of 39 aircraft: five Embraer-190s, 32 Boeing 737s, and two Boeing 767s.
