Ukroboronprom creating Ukrainian Radar Center based on Burevestnik and Kvant plants
Ukraine is creating the Ukrainian Radar Center on the basis of Kyiv-based Burevestnik state plant and Kvant research institute (Kyiv), the press service of the Ukroboronprom state concern has said, with reference to the director of the division for radar, radio contact and air defense systems of the state concern, Yuriy Radchenko.
According to the manager of the state concern, the new association is created in the framework of reorganizing Burevestnik: it was decided to keep the entire range of produce manufactured by the plant, increase the pace of development of new types of weapons and military equipment, as well as work on promising areas of cooperation.
No details concerning the dates of creation, a full number of participants, as well as production and marketing plans for the new association in the state concern have been given at this stage.
However, Radchenko denied reports of the impending sale of the assets or territory of Burevestnik: the plant is on the list of strategic enterprises. Its property, including its territory, cannot be sold or transferred without a government decision," the press service said, citing Radchenko.
Burevestnik is the leading company of Ukraine in manufacturing complex marine instrumentation. The plant designs, manufactures, services radar and navigation equipment.
The plant's products are certified in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001-2001 standard and are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, China, India, and Vietnam.
