State budget for 2014 has deficit of 3.6% of GDP, 4.7% inflation - Chechetov

The national budget of 2014 has a deficit of 3.6% of GDP, 4.7% inflation and a GDP growth rate of 3%, MP from the Party of Regions Mykhailo Chechetov has said.

"The budget is pragmatic, it is realistic, it contains no 'wishes,' that have not been confirmed by funding. The parameters of our budget are synchronized with the global trends and the requirements of the EU," he told reporters on the sidelines of parliament on Thursday.

The deputy head of the parliamentary budget committee, Oksana Kaletnik, in turn, stressed that some of the expenditure parts of the budget need to be read attentively to avoid speculation.

According to her, the funds foreseen for the Interior Ministry in the current year have been increased. However, the border guard and emigration services were merged with the structure of the Interior Ministry, while last year's budget foresaw funds for only one structure, not three.

According to Kaletnik, the increase in the budget expenditure would fall heavily on the shoulders of the private sector, which will be forced to somehow increase its obligatory payments.
