Yanukovych, Stavytsky discuss energy sector development strategy for 2014
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky have discussed an energy sector development strategy for 2014, the presidential press service reported on Tuesday.
"During the meeting we discussed the strategic development of the energy sector for 2014, namely the construction of new facilities," Stavytsky said after the meeting.
He said that, in particular, the issue concerned the construction of the Kaniv pumped storage plant, as well as a plant for the production of synthetic gas from coal in the Donbas.
Stavytsky said that the sides had also discussed the fulfillment of the president's order to reduce gas tariffs for industrial and budget-sustained institutions.
