Azarov to attend Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in Moscow - spokesman
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov will visit Moscow on December 24 to participate in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC), his spokesman, Vitaliy Lukianenko, has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Mykola Azarov, on the instructions of the president, will attend tomorrow a meeting of the council, in which Ukraine participates as an observer," he said on Monday.
Earlier, a diplomatic source told Interfax-Ukraine that on December 24, Azarov is to meet with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to discuss the implementation of the agreements reached at a meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian presidents in Moscow on December 17.
Earlier, Russian media quoted Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and State Secretary Grigory Karasin as saying that the council's meeting in Moscow on December 24-25 would be attended by the presidents of Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The presidents of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan were also invited to the meeting.
The Ukrainian presidential administration did not comment on this report.
