Draft state budget for 2014 to be tabled in parliament this week, could be adopted in Feb - Yefremov

Party of Regions faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov has predicted that the draft state budget for 2014 will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada this week.

"There is an understanding that by the end of the week this document will be tabled in parliament. So we need to adopt an algorithm for its consideration," he said at a meeting of the parliament's conciliatory council on Monday.

Yefremov also said that if the draft budget is registered in the Verkhovna Rada this week, then next week it could be considered at meetings of parliamentary committees, and their proposals could be submitted.

"Then all deputies will be able to work with this document for two weeks, and we think that at the plenary week in mid-January (which is still planned for this session) this bill could be considered at first reading," he said.

Yefremov also added: "If there is the consent of MPs, it could be adopted as a whole. If there are amendments, then we have the opportunity to adopt it at the beginning of February next year directly as a law."
