Ukraine as of November 29 harvests 62 m tonnes of grain from 98% of area
Ukraine on November 29 had threshed grains and leguminous crops on 15.5 million hectares (98% of the areas), harvesting about 62 million tonnes of grain.
According to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, the average grain yield in the country totaled 39.9 centners per hectare, against 31.5 centners per hectare on the same date last year.
Farmers are continuing to harvest corn, its harvest amounted to 28.4 million tonnes of maize for grain from 4.6 million hectares (94% of the planned areas). The average crop yield is 62.2 centners per hectare.
As reported, the ministry forecast the grain harvest in the country in 2013 would total 61.5 million tonnes, with the export potential being 32.5 million tonnes.
Ukraine in 2012 harvested 46.2 million tonnes of grain.
