Ukraine will harvest a record volume – more than 61 million tonnes – of grain this year, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.
"Although the autumn field works are not over, as we are yet to harvest around 700,000 hectares of grain, it's obvious that we will close this year with a record harvest compared to past years. We'll harvest more than 61 million tonnes. It's an important achievement of our agriculture segment and a very serious support for our country's financial and economic stability," he wrote on his page on Facebook on Friday.
The PM also said that this Ukraine has a very good harvest of fruit and vegetables as well as a good stock of cattle.
On this basis, the government is implementing politics of stable prices and in future the prices could drop where it is possible, Azarov said.
