Yanukovych, Putin discuss in Sochi future signing of EU-Ukraine Association Agreement
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting in Sochi discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation, including those related to the future signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.
"Yes, a working meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia was held on Sunday, and they continued discussing the issues that were discussed during the meetings of the presidents as part of a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State," Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing on Tuesday.
He said that it was a working visit by the Ukrainian president, which does not require any concrete decision.
"The sides continued exchanging information and positions on many issues. First of all, the issue concerns the signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine. Therefore, a dialog and a search for mutually acceptable decisions on this issue are continuing," Perebyinis said.
