Azarov: Ukraine has to agree with IMF on introduction of reduced VAT and profit tax from 2014
Ukraine is discussing with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) the issue of the introduction of reduced VAT and profit tax from January 2014, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.
"This issue is one of those that we have to resolve in talks with the International Monetary Fund," Azarov told journalists in Kyiv on Tuesday
"They have their own point of view. I think that we need to find a common language, given that we need a balanced and reasonable budget.
"We need to keep the budget deficit in the safe parameters for the country. Here our view coincides with the IMF's, and, proceeding from this condition, we will resolve the question of whether we will accept the norm that was envisaged in 2010, or whether we will accept the position agreed with the IMF."
Azarov said that today he is scheduled to meet with the IMF mission.
