The Roshen Corporation, a leading Ukrainian confectionary producer, plans to boost output 9% to 450,000 tonnes in 2013, production director Yevhen Poltavtsev said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"Production volumes are constantly rising. Speaking of specific targets for 2013, it's 450,000 tonnes," Poltavtsev said, adding that the company produced 293,000 tonnes of product at its plants in Ukraine in 2012 and 120,000 tonnes in Russia.
The company has invested over 200 million euro in its Ukrainian production facilities in the past two years, he said.
"Our goal is the change the specialization of production to make it possible to move into other markets, modernize production lines, expand the product lineup and create new products whose production is transferrable to other facilities," he said.
Poltavtsev also denied reports that the company would reduce staff at its plants in Ukraine, but said a restructuring might result in reassignments within the company.
