Medvedev, Azarov agree on consultations to resolve trade and economic problems
The prime ministers of Russia and Ukraine Dmitry Medvedev and Mykola Azarov discussed pressing issues of Russian-Ukrainian in relations on the phone on Sunday.
"It was noted that problems in trade and economic relations that arose recently must be tackled on a mutually-beneficial, constructive basis, in the framework of effective legislation," the Russian government press service reports.
"It was agreed that the interested agencies of Russia and Ukraine would conduct relevant consultations in the next few days," the report says.
Medvedev stressed the importance of intensifying the work of the bilateral commission for investment cooperation and the protection of investor rights led by the prime ministers of the two countries.
The work of the commission is meant to guarantee the observance of the lawful interests of Russian and Ukrainian investors and promote the expansion of mutually-beneficial investment engagement.
