Ban on Ukrainian Roshen sweets is not politically motivated - Onishchenko
Russia's Rospotrebnadzor Director Gennady Onishchenko said the ban imposed by his agency on Ukrainian sweets Roshen is not politically motivated.
"Previously, cheese was a sensitive issue. It is not forgotten. Now there is a new issue. They won't find any political component, no matter how much they yell and look. We are talking about quality, which is below the stated standards," Onishchenko told reporters on Wednesday.
Onishchenko said on Monday the Russian sanitary services had banned the supply to Russia of products manufactured by the confectionary corporation Roshen.
On July 11, Onishchenko told Interfax the Russian sanitary services had a problem with the quality of confectionary products supplied from Ukraine.
