Passenger flow at Kharkiv airport down almost by one third in June 2013 on June 2012
Passenger flow at the Kharkiv International Airport in June 2013 fell almost by one third compared with June 2012, amounting to some 65,000 passengers.
"Last year around 82,000 [passengers were serviced], including the Euro 2012 traffic, with 33,000 passengers serviced on the charter flights during matches. We could say that without Euro 2012 we would have serviced 50,000 passengers. This year, we have around 65,000 passengers in June," the head of the commercial department of the airport, Vladyslav Ilyin said at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said that the pace of growth in passenger flow at the airport since early 2013 (apart from June) have come to some 30%.
Ilyin expressed confidence that passenger flow in July will grow.
"By the end of the year we should reach 600,000 passengers. Last year the indicator was 500,000 passengers," he said.
As reported, in May 2013, Kharkiv airport increased passenger flow by 32% year-over-year, to 50,500.
