Ukraine should cooperate closely both with EU, Customs Union, says Luxembourg PM
Ukraine's geopolitical position gives it the opportunity to work closely with both the European Union and Russia, Prime Minister of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker has said.
"As for me, I do not see any conflict in [Ukraine's] relations with the EU and the Customs Union. Ukraine is strategically a very important country for the EU. And due to its location it is bound to have a special relationship with Russia," the Ukrainian government's press service quoted Juncker as saying during a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Monday in Luxembourg.
The prime minister of Luxembourg also said that economic relations should be an absolute priority both in relations between Ukraine and the EU, and in relations between Ukraine and Luxembourg.
