Azarov: We have no right to oppose markets in Europe and CIS
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that statements by some politicians that the CIS market is not interesting to Ukraine are absurd and irresponsible.
"When some politicians make statements that the CIS market is not interesting to us, I'm just amazed at the lack of responsibility and the absurdity of such statements. We cannot ignore and even more lose a single market, especially one in which Ukrainian goods, of course, are competitive and are in demand," he said, while opening a government meeting on Wednesday.
Azarov noted that the market of the European Union, which Ukraine wants to join, has other advantages and other opportunities, but some time is required to get used to them and to re-equip Ukrainian industry.
"We simply have no right to oppose these two markets, these two customs unions," Azarov said.
