Stavytsky: Kyiv constantly informing Moscow about steps to reduce gas price for Ukrainian economy
Ukraine is constantly informing its Russian partners about the steps it is taking to reduce the price of gas for the Ukrainian economy, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky has said.
"We're constantly informing our Russian partners about what steps we are taking to reduce the price of gas for our economy," he told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.
When asked by journalists to comment on statements by Gazprom Deputy CEO and Director General of Gazprom Export Alexander Medvedev that the gas contracts between Russia and Ukraine do not envisage the possibility of reducing the gas price for Ukraine, Stavytsky said: "I don't know that this cannot be done. Medvedev has made a lot of statements over the last six months. "
He said that Ukraine would continue to hold negotiations with Russia on the revision of the gas price.
