Protracted winter to shift field works for 2-3 weeks, says Azarov
Because of the lengthy winter, spring field work will be delayed by a minimum of 2-3 weeks, and these jobs will now have to be organized properly and in the shortest terms, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said.
"Unfortunately, we will have to delay the spring field work for a minimum of 2-3 weeks. And this will cause definite problems for our rural citizens and for the country in general. That's why these jobs should be done in a very organized way and in the shortest terms," he said during the visiting conference in Zhytomyr region on Friday.
According to the premier, all resources should be involved in conducting the spring field work, and necessary special measures taken so as not to lose any of the harvest due to late field work.
