Effectiveness of talks with IMF on loan depends on Ukraine-Russia agreement to reduce gas price, says Azarov
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov believes that the effectiveness of talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on issuing a loan to Ukraine depends on the agreement between Ukraine and Russia on decreasing gas prices.
"When we revise gas prices, we will start talks with the IMF and calculate the budget of Naftogaz and the national budget. If we see a deficit, and I think we will see no deficit, then the terms of the IMF's providing a credit will be reviewed," he said on the air of the Shuster Live talk show on March 1.
"This is what we agreed on. They tell us clearly if you get a decision from Russia, we will start negotiations," the head of the government said.
