Ukraine is still hoping to find compromise with Russia, says Yanukovych

Ukraine has made considerable headway in its negotiations with Russia on the gas issue and is hoping to promptly achieve a compromise on the issue of the gas price reduction, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"We are not stopping negotiations with our Russian partners, and we have now made considerable headway in these negotiations. However, no definite decision has been made yet," the Ukrainian president said on Friday.

Yanukovych also added that Ukraine is hoping to reach a compromise that will help bring down the price on Russian gas.
