Infrastructure Ministry in 2013 to continue implementation of infrastructure projects

The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine in 2013 will continue the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the road sector.

According to a press release from the ministry, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Korniyenko said this at a videoconference at the Cabinet of Ministers attended by officials from regional state administrations.

According to him, the priority task for road workers is the elimination of potholes, as well as the resumption of already started investment projects. In particular, among the priority tasks for 2013 is to continue the construction of the southern bypass around Dnipropetrovsk.

Adviser to the Ukravtodor chairman Yevhen Prusenko said that it is planned by the end of the year to complete the second phase of the construction of the southern bypass around Dnipropetrovsk and simultaneously carry out work on designing the third stage.

Ukravtodor also plans this year to introduce a bypass in Donetsk (the fourth stage) and continue projects on the construction of the following roads: from the border with the Russian Federation to the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky road, Kyiv-Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv-Krakovets, Odesa-Reni and others.

In addition, Prusenko assured the representatives of regional administrations that if additional funding is found, the volume of road repairs in all the regions would be increased.
