Deficit of national budget exceeds target by 38%, says ministry

The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in 2012 came to UAH 53.387 billion, which is 38% up on the target planned for the period and 2.3 times up on the indicator for 2011, reads a posting on the Web site of the Finance Ministry.

"The consolidated budget for 2012 was fulfilled with the deficit of UAH 30.73 billion. The deficit of the national budget for 2012 came to UAH 53.387 billion, including the deficit of the general fund of UAH 53.35 billion, which is linked to the use of ending stocks of budget funds as of early 2012 and loans from the single treasury account to pay under the expense articles on time," reads the report.
