Ukraine continuing to insist on revision of gas contract with Gazprom, says Azarov
Ukraine has not lost hope of a revision of its gas contract with Russia's OJSC Gazprom, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.
"We insist on the revision of the 2009 gas contract, which is very unfavorable to us," the premier said at a meeting with U.S. Department of State's Special Envoy for International Energy Affairs Carlos Pascual in Kyiv on Monday.
According to Azarov, Ukraine suggests that Russia join in the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS).
"We're continuing talks with our Russian partners. We're suggesting that they participate in the modernization of our GTS," Azarov said.
