Over 1,800 uncompleted construction projects in Ukraine finished in 2011-2012, says ministry
A total of 1,854 uncompleted construction projects were commissioned in Ukraine in 2011-2012, and the largest number of the projects was commissioned in Kyiv (131 buildings), reads a posting on the Web site of the Regional Development, Construction, Utilities and Housing Economy Ministry.
The report says that the largest indicator, apart from Kyiv, was also seen in Donetsk region (122 buildings) and Crimea (117 projects).
The smallest number of projects was commissioned in Kyiv region (10), Sevastopol (20) and Kirovohrad region (32).
As reported, referring to the State Statistics Service, as of January 1, 2012, 16,700 uncompleted construction projects were registered in Ukraine, which is 8.8% down on January 1, 2011. One third of the projects were residential buildings with a total gross area of 17.051 million square meters.
