Ukraine to receive gas via LNG terminal at price half of that from Russia, says Azarov
Ukraine will receive gas via the LNG terminal at a price half of that charged by Russia, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said.
"Liquefied gas will cost us half as much as Russian [gas]," he said, while opening a meeting of the Ukrainian government on Wednesday.
He added that the construction of the terminal is an important step to winning the country's energy independence. According to the premier, Ukraine will take delivery over 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas per year when the terminal starts working to its full capacity.
"This is almost a half of the amount we get from Russia per year," he added.
The premier also proposed that Ukrainian corporations invest in the project.
