Government to prevent deflation in 2013, says Azarov
The Ukrainian government will prevent deflation in 2013, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said.
"We're expecting to have rather moderate inflation. And we will prevent the deflation we had this year for sure," he said on Friday while visiting Interfax-Ukraine on the occasion of the agency's 20th anniversary.
According to the premier, the government will actively credit big investment projects and the economy, which could result in "an increase in growth of inflation."
He added that Ukrainians should not be afraid of inflation, as prices of industrial products will grow, while spurts in inflation will not noticeably influence food prices.
