President signs laws on writing off debts of Ukroboronprom's companies
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed laws passed by parliament this autumn that foresee the writing off and restructuring of the debts of military and industrial complex enterprises that are part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern.
The press service of the head of state reported that particularly, Yanukovych signed law No. 5213-IV, passed by parliament on September 6, 2012, on some issues of debts of military and industrial complex enterprises that are part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, and ensuring of their stable development. The law foresees writing off the debts of the state concern's enterprises for natural gas, electric and thermal energy, water supply and drainage, as well as the debt to the Pension Fund and government social funds.
The president also signed law No. 5414-VI, passed by parliament on October 3, 2012 on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the taxation of military and industrial enterprises. The law regulates the mechanism for writing off and restructuring the tax debts of military and industrial complex enterprises that are part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern.
The law foresees the writing off of fines and sanctions, including those under which administrative or court hearings continue, as well as the restructuring of the tax debt of the company for a period of up to 60 calendar months. The tax debt as of October 1, 2012 stood at UAH 248.6 million to the national budget and UAH 366.1 million to government targeted funds.
Ukroboronprom was established by presidential decrees of December 9 and 28, 2010, and government resolution No. 1221 of December 29, 2010.
The Economic Development and Trade Ministry is a member of the supervisory board of the concern.
Until recently the concern united 125 companies, including Ukrspecexport and its subsidiaries, and 118 companies of the defense and industrial complex. In August 2012, the concern obtained corporate rights to nine joint-stock companies that produce products in the interests of the defense and industrial complex.
