No need for hurried formation of free trade zone with EU, says Lavrov
There should be no haste in the formation of a free trade zone with the European Union, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told members of the Association of European Business in Moscow on Monday.
"Later on, when Russian business is fully adapted to WTO terms, we may take the next step towards a relaxation of mutual access to markets. [Our] EU partners are already speaking about a free trade zone. There should be no haste," he said.
"Anyway, it would be premature to discuss [more] WTO commitments in the elaboration of the new fundamental agreement with the EU," he said.
