Zelenskyy proposes Canada join key energy projects in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed that Canada join important energy projects, which the countries' energy ministers will discuss.
"We discussed energy cooperation. This is very important for us. Energy is the foundation of resilience. Today, I proposed that Canada join important energy projects," Zelenskyy said during a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Sunday.
He noted that Ukraine has the necessary infrastructure as well as storage capacity. In addition, Ukraine's storage facilities could also be used to supply Canadian gas.
"This is very important not only for stability in Ukraine but for all of Europe. We discussed with Mark the possibility of quickly implementing such a program. I believe our energy ministers will hold a separate meeting to discuss all of this," the president said.
