Zelenskyy holds meeting with delegation of US Congress in Chernihiv region
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Chernihiv region held a meeting with a delegation of the US Congress, at which both parties and both chambers of Congress were represented.
"It is important that partners see personally what is happening in Ukraine in our regions, which are shelled by Russian terrorists and which have survived the Russian occupation. I had a meeting with congressmen yesterday in Chernihiv region," the president wrote on his Telegram channel on Saturday.
He noted that he informed his partners about the situation on the front line, the priority needs of the army and the scale of the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.
"I emphasized that it is vitally important that the US Congress make a decision as soon as possible on further support for our state, on an appropriate package for protection against Russian terror and our further active actions. This is something that will definitely strengthen Ukraine and life in general," the message says.
Zelenskyy stressed that he is grateful to "everyone in the United States, every American heart, which, like us in Ukraine, does not submit to evil and values life."
According to the press service of the President of Ukraine, the delegation included Republican Senator Joni Ernst, members of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party Wiley Nickel, Tom Suozzi, Michael Quigley and from the Republican Party Ashley Hinson and Chuck Edwards, who were in Ukraine on a visit.
