Zelenskyy introduces to Rada bill on demobilization of conscripts

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the demobilization of conscripts.

Bill No. 11035 on amending Chapter XII of the Final Provisions of the Law On military duty and military service regarding the terms of compulsory military service was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, the parliament said on its website.

As noted in the explanatory note to the bill, the head of state proposes to normalize, during martial law in Ukraine, the possibility of transferring to the reserve military personnel who have served the established terms of compulsory military service. The note notes that this will make it possible to send military personnel who have served the established terms of compulsory military service in 2024 to the reserve.

According to the proposed changes, conscripts whose service period ended during martial law and whose service was continued beyond the established deadlines are discharged from service into the reserve "within the time frame determined by the decree of the President of Ukraine."
