Russian troops damage Olyshivske underground gas storage in Chernihiv region

Ukrtransgaz, the operator of underground gas storage facilities, has reported that Russian troops damaged the Olyshivske underground gas storage facility with a design capacity of 0.31 billion cubic meters in Chernihiv region.

"Today, at about 9:00, during the shelling of the village of Olyshivka (Chernihiv region) by the Russian occupation troops, a shell hit the building on the territory of the underground gas storage. The pumping station for supplying methanol to the site of the gas collection point was damaged," Ukrtransgaz said in a statement.

According to the company, the personnel of the gas storage facility was urgently evacuated, gas was released from the gas collection point site, and all external connections were turned off.

"There are no victims or injured among the workers of the Olyshivske UGS facility. Planned periodic monitoring and bypassing communications will continue at the facility," Ukrtransgaz said.
