Project Office transfers eHealth system to Health ministry

The eHealth Project Office has transferred the minimum viable product (MVP) of the eHealth national system to the Health Ministry of Ukraine, the press service of the office has reported.

"From now on, the Health Ministry will be involved in the subsequent development and implementation of eHealth, and in December 2017 state-owned enterprise Electronic Health was established for this purpose," the office said.

The creation of the eHealth MVP system was financed using the funds of international donors - the governments of the United States and Canada, as well as the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The product was transferred to the ministry on a free basis.

"The eHealth Project Office, with the support of donors, developed the functionality that was necessary for the Health Ministry to start the healthcare reform. We were able to offer the architecture and software components that will further develop a full-fledged eHealth system in Ukraine with minimal costs," the press office of the Project Office said, citing its Head Yuriy Buhai.

According to the report, the results of the technical evaluation of the MVP ordered by the ministry testify to the compliance of the product with the declared characteristics and a memorandum signed between the ministry and public organizations regarding the development of the electronic system.

"MVP eHealth is recommended for commissioning without further warning," the report said.

The Project Office, created by representatives of the anti-corruption organization Transparency International Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH, ceases to exist, but some members of the team will continue to support the development of eHealth.
