Saakashvili claims he will be blackmailed with extradition to Georgia

Former Georgian President and former Odesa regional governor, who heads the Ukrainian opposition party "Movement of New Forces," Mikheil Saakashvili, has said he does not intend to fear blackmail that he will be extradited to Georgia.

"Now [former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina] Ivanishvili and [Ukrainian President Petro] Poroshenko agreed that a sentence on trumped-up charges will be quickly issued next week," Saakashvili told Georgia's Rustavi-2 television company on Sunday, December 3, during participation in a March for Impeachment organized by his party in Kyiv.

In his opinion, they want to blackmail him with extradition, suggesting that he go to the Netherlands or Poland instead of Georgia.

At the same time, he said that if such a question arises, he is not afraid and is ready to return to Georgia.

"Do you play these games? They will finish badly. I'll come to Georgia. I will not go to the Netherlands. I will not go to Europe as they wish. It's their joint game. I want to say that if they raise this question, if the oligarchs have agreed, if they issue a verdict in Georgia and want to blackmail me on the basis of this verdict by threatening to send me to Georgia, I said that I will come to Georgia. Let our supporters in Georgia prepare that I will come when they make this decision," Saakashvili said.

Speaking about the rally "March for Impeachment" in Kyiv, he noted that "this is only the beginning."

"Here, in Ukraine, if you let the genie out of the bottle, you cannot squeeze it back in," he said.
