Saakashvili says ready to lead next Ukrainian govt, refers to Dec 3 as zero hour

Movement of New Forces leader, former head of the Odesa regional administration and former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili has said Ukraine needs a new government and if necessary, he is ready to lead it.

"Ukraine needs an urgent formation of new authorities, a new government. We have to act together to form this government and I am ready to do it together with you. We have to find new people for the new Ukrainian government. I am ready to lead this process together with you. I am ready to lead such a government if necessary. But above all, we will find those Ukrainians who care about Ukraine, who will respect and develop Ukraine," Saakashvili said when speaking out at a people's gathering in the tent city near the building of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada on Sunday.

Saakashvili went on to recall the initiative of launching a 'popular impeachment' on December 3. "We have set up information centers in Ukrainian regions. We will pursue an information campaign on the run-up to December 3. And they [authorities] will pursue a campaign of grabbing people on streets, beating and intimidating people," he said.

Saakashvli referred to December 3 as "the zero hour for all of us, all of them [authorities] and the country". "Let's get organized. Now I will be touring the country, we are going to raise people peacefully and quietly, without any provocations, as that is their plan. Our plan of action is peaceful, quiet, and well-argued. It features definite plans and definite candidates for definite positions, an update and a total change of the political class in Ukraine," Saakashvili said.
