Poroshenko plans a lot of meetings in framework of UN General Assembly – Klimkin

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is scheduled to hold a lot of meetings on the margins of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"Meetings have been scheduled, there will be many meetings, moreover, they will be focused not only on Europe, but also the U.S.," Klimkin said at the Inter TV channel.

Klimkin said that Poroshenko will make a speech at the UN General Assembly. He also noted that there would be two meetings of the Security Council.

"And it will be very important for us, as the one meeting will be devoted to the Middle East and Syria, and the other - to the aviation safety. We expect it will be preceded by the final report relating to the Malaysian Boeing, which is extremely important," the minister said.

The 71st session of the UN General Assembly will open at the organization's headquarters in New York on September 13.

As previously reported, Klimkin said that the meeting of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and U.S. President Barack Obama will be held within the framework of the UN General Assembly.
