The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a pilot project to introduce state regulation on insulin prices from December 1, 2015.

This is stipulated in government decree No. 443 of June 26 on amending Cabinet resolution No. 73 dated March 5, 2014, the text of which has been posted on the official website of the Cabinet.

According to the decree, from January 1, 2016 the turnover of insulin, in particular reimbursement for its costs at the expense of local budgets, will be carried out in reference prices (reimbursement prices) after such drugs are included in the register of reference prices.

In addition, the Ministry of Health was instructed to adopt the provision on the register of patients requiring insulin therapy by August 1, 2015, and bring it into force by September 1, 2015; in coordination with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine by December 1, 2015 to approve regulations on the register of reference prices for insulin and the procedure for amending it; compile and make public by January 1, 2016 the register of reference prices for insulin preparations; by December 1, 2015 submit a draft law to the government on the introduction from January 1, 2016 of reimbursement for insulin costs.
