Ukraine's Health Ministry has approved a register of reference price of insulin.

Resolution No. 1264 dated November 21, 2016 has been posted on the ministry's website.

The register was approved to implement a pilot project introducing public regulation of insulin prices. A total of 65 items are listed in it. The register contains information about international nonproprietary name (INN): trade name, substance description, doses, the number of international units, dosage measuring units in the primary package, name of manufacturer and Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification (ATC) code.

The register also gives information about the wholesale price, reference price (for full or partial reimbursement) and the sum to be paid, the number of registration certificate of the substance.

The reference prices are calculated using the procedure for calculating the price of insulin approved by the ministry in April 2016.

The government planned to set the reference price of insulin calculating average price of INN in Poland, Latvia, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a pilot project to introduce state regulation on insulin prices in March 2014.
