Two reservoirs explode at BRSM-Nafta oil depot, no danger of fire spreading – Emergency Service

Two more fuel reservoirs have exploded at BRSM-Nafta oil depot at around 10:00, however the fire will not spread toward the location of a nearby unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the KLO oil depot, State Emergency Service Head Mykola Chechotkin has said.

"As for now, at 10:15, there was one more explosion, when two reservoirs with a capacity of 800 cubic meters per each exploded. State Emergency Service staff are now extinguishing the fire…For the moment burning of three reservoirs 800 cubic meters per each is under control. There is no danger of fire spreading towards the side of the military units, in the direction of the aerodrome and to KLO, another oil depot," Chechotkin said.

"Measures began to pump petroleum products from the cisterns that have not exploded. There is an opportunity to transfer petroleum products from there to vacant capacities of the KLO oil depot," Chechotkin said.

Firefighters are still combating the blaze that broke out at the BRSM-Nafta oil depot in the village of Kriachky late on June 8.
