Commission probing Malaysia Airlines Boeing crash in Ukraine includes 240 intl experts - Foreign Ministry

As of July 23, 240 international experts were working in Ukraine as part of a commission investigating the July 17 crash of a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 in the eastern part of the country.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on its Web site that the commission includes experts from the Netherlands, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland, France, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates. There are also representatives of the European Union, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Interpol in the commission.

"The international commission is working despite difficulties with access to the crash site. Their work is complicated by the fact that Russian military experts have reportedly worked at the crash site under the guise of civilians," it said.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has set up a crisis center working round the clock to provide answers to inquiries by crash victims' relatives and coordinate relevant work with diplomatic establishments of foreign countries accredited in Ukraine, it said.

No relatives of crash victims had arrived in Ukraine as of Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry said.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17, killing all the 298 on board.
