Crashed Boeing black boxes handed over to Malaysia

Self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Prime Minister Alexander Borodai has handed over flight recorders of the crashed Malaysia Airlines flight to Malaysia.

Special envoy of the Malaysian government Col. Mohamed Sakri accepted the black boxes from Borodai, an Interfax correspondent reports.

Sakri and DPR Deputy Prosecutor General Eduard Yakubovsky signed a memorandum acknowledging the transfer of the flight recorders, exchanged copies of the memorandum and shook hands.

"The memorandum binds the Malaysian side to pass the black boxes to ICAO experts," Borodai told reporters.

The Malaysian delegation is now packing the black boxes.

Sakri, a member of the Malaysian National Security Council, thanked the DPR administration for handing over the black boxes.

He told reporters he had thanked "his Excellency Mr. Borodai" for agreeing to the transfer of the black boxes, which were property of Malaysia.

Sakri recalled that Malaysia had some sad plane disappearance experience and now it had to prove to the people that it was capable of investigating air crashes.
