1 min read

France hopes that Ukraine will soon make concrete steps to resolve the political crisis in the country, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on Monday.

"Violence and radicalization can't be an answer to the aspirations of the Ukrainian people. Calls for dialog should be promptly followed by concrete steps," the minister said in a statement.

Fabius said that on Sunday, he held talks with one of the leaders of the Ukrainian opposition, Vitali Klitschko.

"I expressed to him France's solidarity, and our call for the immediate stop to violence and for the pursuing of talks between the government and the opposition," he said.
