A total of 536,900 citizens, including almost 42,000 foreigners, were put on the state register of individual taxpayers in January-October 2013, the press service of the Income and Tax Ministry reported on Thursday.

"The number of foreign citizens who receive incomes in Ukraine is growing every month by at least 4,000 people. For example, in October, around 4,700 foreign citizens submitted applications to receive registration numbers to the income and tax agencies," the press service said.

As of November 1, 2013, over 547,500 foreigners had been entered on the state register, which is almost 10% up year-over-year. The total number of registered taxpayers is 44.5 million.

"Analysts of the Income and Tax Ministry believe that the said pace is a result of the facilitation of the procedure for the registration of taxpayers and development of the tax services. Today one can choose any inspectorate irrespective of residence or temporary registration to be registered as taxpayer. The terms of the registration, the issue of registration cards and certificates on the change of the registration number were cut from 10 to five days," the ministry said.

The ministry also said that foreign citizens and persons without citizenship could receive a taxpayer card in the chief departments of the Income and Tax Ministry in the regions.

Ukrainian citizens can apply to the divisions of the Income and Tax Ministry in line with their residence or the place where they receive income to obtain registration numbers.
