Russian President Vladimir Putin has been elected the leader of the Popular Front for Russia.

The president, for his part, thanked all those present at the front's congress on Wednesday for their support and trust.

Film director Stanislav Govorukhin, Delovaya Rossiya co-chairman Alexander Galushka and State Duma member Olga Timofeyeva will co-chair the front's Central Staff.
