Popov: Repairs of roads in Kyiv to last at least until April 15

1 min read

Repair of roads in Kyiv will be completed not earlier than April 15 because of the large amount of work, Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

"We won't repair the roads by April 15. This is not possible with such an amount of work," he told reporters on Thursday.

Popov noted that pothole patching in Kyiv was being conducted very actively. However, he said, low temperatures restrict this work.

At the same time, Popov said that the problem would not be resolved in this way, as it is necessary to do major repairs and reconstruct roads.

"And this will be possible only if temperatures are not below plus eight degrees [Celsius]. This will be large-scale work," he said.

On February 19, the UDAR faction in Kyiv City Council started collecting signatures for the dismissal of Kyivavtodor Chairman Heorhiy Hlinsky due to the poor state of the city's roads. A total of 20 tents were put up in the city in the places of the largest number of cars. Five activists in each tent collected signatures from residents of Kyiv.
