Popov: Kyiv to start building metro line to Troyeschyna after completing Teremky station

Kyiv's authorities will start actively building a metro line to the Vyhurivschyna-Troyeschyna housing estate after the construction of the Teremky station is completed, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

"After the builders finish here, they will start [building the fourth Podilsko-Vyhurivska Line of the Kyiv Metro]," he told reporters during a visiting working meeting on the construction of the Teremky metro station of the Kurenivsko-Chervonoarmiyska Line in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Popov said he was confident that the construction of the fourth line of the Kyiv Metro would be launched.

"The question is how to choose the best and most profitable financing option for the city and, of course, for the country. $2 billion is still a big budget for a project," he said.

Popov said that all of the necessary documents concerning the approval and inclusion of the project on the construction of the Podilsko-Vyhurivska Line of the Kyiv Metro in a state program had already been submitted for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.

As reported, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul said on Tuesday that the construction of stations of the Kurenivsko-Chervonoarmiyska Line of the Kyiv Metro would be completed within a few months this year.

Earlier, Popov said that Kyiv was planning to raise a $700 million loan from Russia's Vnesheconombank for the construction of a subway line to Troyeschyna.
