Ukroboronprom links wage arrears repayment at Mykolaiv Shipyard with govt decision on fate of Ukraina missile cruiser

Ukroboronprom State Concern links the legal settlement of the situation with wage arrears repayment at state-owned Mykolaiv Shipyard, part of the state concern, with the government decision on the fate of the Ukraina missile cruiser, which is on the balance sheet of the enterprise.

"Wage payment to the employees of the enterprise fully depends on the Cabinet of Ministers, which must make decision on the Ukraina missile cruiser," the press service of the state concern said.

"Wage arrears repayment at the shipyard at the expense of other enterprises contradicts the norms of Ukrainian legislation on financial and economic activities, according to which Ukroboronprom has no right to distribute assets between the enterprises that are part of the concern," the press service said.

"The decision to withdraw funds from other active enterprises of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine, in particular Antonov state enterprise, Morozov machine building bureau, Artem holding company and others, will lead to these enterprises' failure to upgrade and expand production for the manufacture of weapons for the Ukrainian army," Ukroboronprom said.

"That is why, perhaps the only legitimate mechanism for resolving the issue of wage arrears repayment [at Mykolaiv Shipyard] is stipulated in the draft government resolution prepared with the participation of Ukroboronprom," the statement said.
